Proper use
This electric power tool is
only intended for solvent-
free glueing of handicraft
materials and model
components at home.
Before use
Check the applicator
for any damage (mains
connection lead, housing
etc.) before putting it into
operation and do not use
the tool if it is damaged.
Do not use liquid or pasty
adhesives!
The glue reaches tem-
peratures of up to 190 °C!
You could burn yourself!
After skin contact
with hot glue: Im-
mediately cool with cold
water. Do not try a re-
move hot-melt glue from
the skin. If necessary,
seek medical attention.
After eye contact with hot
glue: Immediately cool for
approx. 15 min. with run-
ning water and consult a
doctor straight away.
Use the applicator in dry
rooms only.
Do not use in conjunction
with highly inflammable/
combustible materials.
Due to risk of fire, do not
use on highly combust-
ible surfaces or in com-
bustible environments
(e.g. paper, textiles etc.).
The area you are glueing
must be free of grease,
dry and absolutely clean.
Glue marks on clothing
cannot be removed.
Make sure heat-sensitive
materials are suitable
for glueing with hot-melt
adhesive.
Drips of glue are best
removed when cold.
Do not pull the glue
stick out of the ap-
plicator. Hot glue running
into the applicator may
cause damage.
Do not leave the applica-
tor
unattended.
Store out of the children's
reach!
The applicator is not
intended for use by per-
sons (adults and children)
with phys-
ical, sensory or mental
impairments or lacking
experience and/or know-
ledge of use unless they
are supervised by a per-
son responsible for their
safety or have received
instructions from that
person on how to use the
applicator.
Children should be
supervised to make sure
they do not play with the
applicator.
Proper operation is
only guaranteed by using
genuine STEINEL sticks.
Important information
Battery charger
Keep the charger clean.
Soiling may present the
risk of an electric shock.
Charge the applicator at
a temperature ranging
from 0 °C to 35 °C.
Charge the applicator
in the genuine Steinel
charging station only. Do
not charge rechargeable
batteries of other brands.
They could catch fire or
explode.
11
Rechargeable battery
Protect the rechargeable
battery and the applica-
tor from heat, moisture,
water, e.g. also from per-
manent sunlight and fire.
It could explode.
Do not open the applica-
tor or the rechargeable
battery. This c
ould cause
a short circuit. The re-
chargeable battery must
not be removed. In the
event of problems, please
consult your retailer.
If the rechargeable bat-
tery is damaged or used
improperly, vapours or
electrolyte fluid may
escape.
Do not touch any elec-
trolyte fluid that has
escaped. Do not get
electrolyte fluid in your
eyes. Immediately move
applicator away from na-
ked flamed or sources of
heat. Immediately remove
contaminated clothing.
If electrolyte does escape
from the battery, the
following action is neces-
sary:
Contact with eyes:
Immediately rinse eyes
with copious quantities
of clean water, such as
tap water, but do not rub.
Seek medical attention.
Failure to take the appro-
priate action can result in
loss of sight.
Contact with skin:
Immediately wash the
areas affected with copi-
ous quantities of clean
water, e.g. tap water, or
skin irritation may occur.
If the chemical penetrates
clothing, take off clothing
immediately and wash
the skin with water. If
irritation persists after
washing, seek medical
attention.
Inhalation:
Immediately remove vic-
tim to fresh air and seek
medical attention.
The lithium-ion recharge-
able battery can be
recharged at any time
without shortening its
lifespan. Interrupting
the charge cycle will not
damage the rechargeable
battery.
When taking out of use
for a long time, put the
applicator away with
battery charged. This will
prolong the life of the
lithium-ion rechargeable
battery.
When not in use, keep
the rechargeable bat-
tery away from paper
clips, coins, keys, nails,
screws or other small
metal objects that could
short-circuit the con-
tacts. Short-circuiting
the rechargeable battery
contacts can cause burns
or fire.
The vapours may cause
respiratory irritation.
Transport
The rechargeable lithium-
ion cells of the recharge-
able battery are tested to
UN Manual ST/SG/AC.
10/11/Rev.3 Part III,
sub-section 38.3. It is
equipped with an ef-
fective means to prevent
internal pressure build-up
and short circuit as well
as a means to preclude
violent rupture and dan-
gerous reverse current
flow. The lithium-equiva-
lent quantity contained in
the rechargeable battery
is below the relevant limit
values. Therefore, the
rechargeable battery is
not subject to national
or international danger-
ous goods regulations
either as an individual
component or fitted in a
device. However, these
regulations may become
relevant if transporting
several rechargeable bat-
teries. In this case, it may
be necessary to observe
specific conditions (e.g.
in relation to packaging).
